About the PFPF
The People for Pets Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2009 and dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals in our area.
We accept, rescue, shelter and rehabilitate cats and kittens in need (and some dogs) and offer a safe haven for rescued animals in our private shelter facility and through a network of foster homes.
We provide comprehensive veterinary care and in depth socialization with the ultimate goal of finding permanent and loving homes for all animals we rescue.
Recognizing the feline overpopulation problem we collaborate and partner with supporters, our veterinary clinic and local Animal Control officers to humanely control and manage stray cat populations. We accomplish this through spay/neuter programs including "Spay a Momma" where we require that the mother cat be spayed and returned to owner and all kittens, once weaned, be surrendered to the PFPF. We also offer a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release or Rehome) program. There must be a dedicated caretaker if the cats cannot be rehomed but have to be returned to the trapping site. In this case we assist caretaker(s) with food, shelter and medical bills for these cats.
We provide assistance to lower income families who are struggling to care for their beloved pets but lack the funds to purchase pet food or provide even routine veterinary care. We offer food for both cats and dogs thru our pet food closet and work with our veterinarian to provide medical care at the lowest prices possible.
All donations are tax deductible according to federal regulations. Our dedicated Board of Directors and volunteers raise funds independently through private fundraising events and charitable contributions.
